  When you hear the voices and the accents of people you get a different perspective of their personalities. When you hear Simon speak one sees a side of Simon that can't be expressed with text. JWD board member Mouthy called in and brought to light her radiant personality. Listen in!

  Rachel, you're right, Simon does sound like one of the Beatles. We were so glad that he wanted to come on the call and talk to His friends from JWD.

  i think the school works differently now, but when i was a kid, a #2 talk was 5 minutes and i would give it in about 3 minutes...why did the meeting still end at 9:15!

  ps.........do you remember when those tms meeting were 2 hours??????

  When I was living in Florida, the book study conductor once stopped the study 15 minutes ahead of time and then said "I'm sure we can all think of better things to do".

  What happened to the simplicity of the early church?

  most were just hard working average people who had little education and no understanding of the philosophies of the world.

  the gospel message of the kingdom and the future hope of life everlasting were the basis of their simple faith.

  This is a nice topic to discuss and so timely. Pahpa had some really nice points, as well as others. It is one of the reasons why we started our house church, to help former Jehovah's Witnesses as well as others who just want to get together and discuss simple Christianity. We meet every other Sunday and after a Bible sermon where everyone is encouraged to comment, we get together and have coffee and refreshments.   can anyone please maybe find a scan of this article?

  the first sentence reads:"disfellowshipping can be extremely punitive.".

  it is an article that supposedly reads that the punishment to a df'd person goes so far as to 'include hatred' of such persons-not just their behavior.

  I can't scan the article but, it does,in fact, say to "hate"the person. Paragraph 15 states in part, "When they deliberately choose such badness after knowing what is right, when the bad becomes so ingrained that it is an inseparable part of their makeup, then a Christian must hate (in the Biblical sense of the word)those who have inseparably attached themselves to the badness".Here is a link about Jehovah's Witnesses and hatred.http://sixscreensofthewatchtower.com/1hatred.html

  simon, the administrator of jwd, private mailed me, saying he is going to try to come on our live conference call this saturday night.. in view of the current news concerning jwd we have set aside a special conference call.

  the program will be devoted to the efforts and accomplishments of this most popular site.

  many from this board will be coming on and giving us their "spin" on how jwd effected their lives.if you would like to come on the call and tell us what jwd has done for you, by all means be our guest.

  i am curious as to what any of you thought of them when you seen them holding signs and passing out pamphlets to jws as they were all walking by.
